Privacy policy

Last updated 3 October 2026

Banto is an app for planning with your friends: making plans, voting on times, seeing who's coming, splitting costs and keeping track of who has paid. This policy explains what Banto collects, why, who can see it and how to delete it. Banto is run by Farhan Azam in Lahore, Pakistan. Questions go to farhan26azam@gmail.com.

The short version

What we collect

Your account

What you do in Banto

Your device

We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, or any card or bank details. We don't use advertising IDs, ad networks or analytics tools.

Why we use it

Who can see it

We never sell your data or share it for advertising.

WhatsApp, Maps and payment apps

Share to WhatsApp, Open in Maps and payment reminders open those apps with a link or message you can see first. Banto doesn't read anything back from them. Payments happen in your own Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa app, never in Banto.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, we remove your name, number, area, payment handles, devices, alerts and settings, and delete your sign-in. Expenses and payments you were part of stay in each group's history under "Former member", without your name or number, so your friends' balances stay correct. Backup copies are removed as those backups expire.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections. Access rules in our database make sure you only see groups you're in, and changes go through checks on our server, for example only the payer or the person owed can mark a payment.

Your choices

Age

Banto is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
